Driving License Category A2
The A2 category of driving license permits the use of motorcycles without sidecars with a maximum engine output of 35 kW. The power/weight ratio of the motorcycle must not exceed 0.2kW/kg.
The step-by-step construction of this driving license permits you to make your small motorcycle driving licence earlier and to gradually climb up to higher engine power by obtaining the A2 licence.
Motorcycles and scooters
Driving license category A2 is the second stage of a motorcycle driving license. This permits you to operate mopeds and small motorcycles of up to 50cc. The goal of the class is to let you slowly ascend the ladder of engine power and cautiously fantasize about the possibility of a bigger one. The test is slightly more difficult than that of the first category, and you'll need to attend more theory lessons to prepare for it.
The category A2 driving licence is valid until the age of 24. It is valid alongside a category A1 car driver's licence or as a provisional driver's license. If you are over 24 years old, however, you must have a category B driving licence is required to drive motorcycles that exceed 35 kW.
You can get your group A1 license at 16 years old (in Denmark, Malta, and Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and in Germany, Hungary, Iceland and in the following countries: Latvia, Lithuania, Italy and Poland). When you reach the age of 16 you must pass the A2 category motorbike test. You must pass the test before turning 18. After two years, you are able to move to category A.
After passing the test in category A2, you are able to drive a motorcycle with or without sidecar and vehicles on three wheels that have a power of up to 35 kW. These vehicles must also have a power/weight ratio of no greater than 0.2 kW/kg and cannot be derived from a vehicle that has twice the power of the maximum.
If you have completed the two-part test for a moped or a motorcycle of a lower class since 1st Jul 1996, you may skip the theory test and only take the practical exam. You can ride a smaller moped or scooter with L plates or take the new

Four-wheeled vehicles
This category covers all motorized vehicles that have four wheels, excluding passenger cars and buses. It also includes utility vehicles such as vans, pickups, and panels. Campers, motorhomes and lorries are also covered. This category also includes vehicles such as ambulances, hearses, and carryalls that are designed to transport eight or more people or have a weight limit of 750kg or more.

You must have passed the theory exam to be able to drive a car in this category. You must complete 12 90-minute lessons on basic material, and 4 90-minute lessons on the additive (category AA2). The theory tests require an average score of 70 percent.
If you pass the theory test, you'll have to do a practical driving exam on private land and on roads that are public. Once you have passed both of these, you will be issued with a request for a driving license. You will have to submit this request to the local authority within three years of passing the practical test.
After you pass your driving test, it's possible to begin driving vehicles in the category A2. In certain countries, if you hold an A1 license for two years, there is no requirement to pass an additional test to get a category A2 driving licence that permits you to operate motorcycles up 35 kW. This is a reason to get experience driving less powerful two-wheelers prior to transitioning to more powerful machines.
If you hold a driving licence in category A2, you can ride a tricycle as long as it has a maximum cylinder capacity of 125cc, and an output power of 11 kW. This category was formerly part of the A license. Drivers who had an A category licence prior to 19th January 2013 were allowed to ride mopeds and retain the right.
Motor vehicles with five or more wheels
This category includes vehicles equipped with motors that are designed to be used on the roads to transport passengers or

They must have at the very least two or three wheels in contact with the ground and a saddle or seat for the driver and passenger and a motor capable of producing speeds of 20 miles per hour or more. They are typically equipped with a steering wheel and brakes. They can also be controlled and travelled in reverse. Some people prefer to obtain an operator

Motor vehicles with trailers
Category A2 includes motor vehicles with trailers. These are not vehicles driven by drivers, but rather towed by larger vehicles, such as cars. For instance the tractor that pulls trailers would fall into this category, as well as small trucks that have been designed for carrying loads, like those used by painters or plumbers to transport tools and equipment to a work site. The maximum allowed mass (MAM) for this category, is 8,250kg.
To drive a vehicle in this category you must have passed the theory test for category A1 or obtained a driving license by direct entry. You may also have to pass a practical driving test, based on the kind of vehicle you plan to drive.
The license you are granted for Category A2 is valid for three years from the date you have passed your theory test. You must renew it before the expiry date to keep it in effect.
In addition to the categories above, you can get a licence to drive other vehicles with special requirements. For example, you need a special license to drive the large goods vehicle which is classed as a category C. This requires a knowledge of special regulations that govern the transport of dangerous items.
The code 96 is added to your category B driving licence when you have passed both the theory and practical test but your vehicle and trailer do not qualify for a category C license. The code 96 will be added to your driving licence category B if you've passed both the practical and theory tests, but your trailer or vehicle do not meet the requirements for the Category C licence.
You must hold a driving license in category B for at least two years and pass both a theory and a practical test. You should also have taken an exclusive course and received additional training to be able to drive this. This course is called a driver's education course.
