The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.
But this year, as protests across the Middle East have actually pushed up the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one service is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
